FTC 12379 Rockwood Rancor, an all-girls robotics team from Shumate Middle School in the Gibraltar School District, has quickly made a name for itself since being revamped in the Spring 2023 FTC season. As the first all-girls team within the Marauder Robotics program, Rockwood Rancor has become a beacon of inspiration for female students, attracting many new members each season. Over the past two FTC seasons, the team has shown remarkable improvement, earning prestigious accolades, including the 2023 Collins Aerospace Innovate Award at the Gibraltar Spring Showdown and the 2023 Inspire Award at the Metro Detroit League Qualifier. Their hard work and dedication culminated in a qualification for the 2023 Michigan FTC State Championship at Macomb College - an incredible achievement for the team. The Gibraltar School District takes immense pride in Rockwood Rancor's accomplishments and looks forward to their continued success in the 2025 FTC season, "Decode." The girls on this team continue to inspire others, proving that the future of robotics is bright and inclusive.
